On the morning of November 14th, the 66th session of the "Piloting Lecture Series" of our school was successfully held. Professor Wan Meirong, a member of the Marxist Theory Discipline Review Group of the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council and from the School of Marxism, Central China Normal University, was invited to give a special lecture titled "The Basic Guidelines for Ideological and Political Work in the New Era". Some teachers and master's students of our school attended the lecture on site, which was hosted by Vice Dean Zhu Lei.

Centering on the newly issued Regulations on Ideological and Political Work of the Communist Party of China this year(hereinafter referred to as the "Regulations"), Professor Wan conducted an in-depth interpretation from three aspects: the background and significance of the issuance, the prominent characteristics and core contents, as well as the implementation and discipline construction. He pointed out that the issuance of the "Regulations" marks a new stage in China's ideological and political work and holds milestone significance. Formulated based on the historical foundation and practical needs of ideological and political work, the "Regulations" is an important measure to strengthen the Party's overall leadership over ideological and political work. It is not only a summary of historical experience, but also a key to promoting the scientization, institutionalization and standardization of ideological and political work in the new era. He analyzed the core contents of the "Regulations" from four major characteristics: "adhering to the correct direction, upholding traditions while pursuing innovations, focusing on problem-solving, and ensuring legal completeness". Combining with his own research experience, Professor Wan also shared the impact of the "Regulations" on the development of the ideological and political discipline. He suggested that the study and implementation of the "Regulations" should be deeply integrated with scientific research and talent training, promote the high-quality development of the discipline through diversified research methods, cultivate academic and professional talents in a classified manner, strengthen practical teaching, and guide students to build a new type of knowledge structure.

In his summary, Zhu Lei stated that Professor Wan's lecture combines profound theoretical connotation with practical guiding significance, providing clear ideas and scientific methods for the discipline construction, academic research and talent training of our college. It has benefited teachers and students of our college a lot and brought them great enlightenment.
