To thoroughly study and implement General Secretary Xi Jinping's important expositions on the construction of ideological and political courses, and vigorously advance the "Three Entries" work of the spirit of “Xi Jinping: The Governance of China (Volume V)” and the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, our college held a collective lesson preparation meeting on "An Introduction to Mao Zedong Thought and the Theoretical System of Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era" on November 25. Xu Yeqin, Secretary of the University Party Committee, and Geng Liang, Director of the Academic Affairs Office of the Undergraduate School, attended the meeting, which was hosted by Gong Li, Director of the Department of Sinicization of Marxism.

At the meeting, Tang Zhenhua, Secretary of the School Party Committee, reported on the school's efforts in studying “Xi Jinping: The Governance of China (Volume V)”, the spirit of the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee, and the progress in the construction of ideological and political courses. Professor Li Chunyan from the Department of Sinicization of Marxism interpreted the spirit of the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee and put forward suggestions on how to effectively promote the "Three Entries" work. In the collective discussion session, Professor Qu Xiaolin, Associate Professor Tong Fei, and Dr. Tan Yuting delivered speeches on integrating the above-mentioned spirits into the course, focusing on relevant chapters. Their topics were respectively "Connecting History, Reality and the Future: Reflections on Integrating the Spirit of Volume V and the Fourth Plenary Session into the Course — Centered on Chapter 4", "Understanding the Institutional Advantages of the Socialist Market Economy from the Perspective of the 15th Five-Year Plan", and "Consolidating the Ideological Foundation to Lead the New Journey of Chinese Modernization". Associate Professor Lan Hua and Dr. Gao Junshan from the department also made supplementary remarks. Geng Liang emphasized the need to give full play to the role of grassroots teaching and research organizations, vigorously carry out teaching research, build a systematic teaching case database, effectively construct and utilize intelligent course platforms, and actively promote the transformation and output of teaching achievements.

Xu Yeqin affirmed the achievements made by our college in the construction of ideological and political courses and teaching research activities. He pointed out that since the 18th National Congress of the CPC, especially the Symposium on Ideological and Political Theory Teachers in Colleges and Universities, General Secretary Xi Jinping has delivered important speeches and issued a series of important instructions on running ideological and political courses well, providing fundamental guidelines and action plans for strengthening the construction of such courses. He stressed that thoroughly studying and effectively applying Xi Jinping: The Governance of China (Volume V), as well as studying, propagating and implementing the spirit of the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee, are important political tasks at present and in the future. Ideological and political courses serve as the main channel and position for enhancing ideological and political leadership, and efforts should be made to "study in depth, comprehend thoroughly, teach vividly, and implement solidly", so as to effectively transform the learning achievements into practical effects of focusing on "forging the main line" and implementing the fundamental task of "cultivating virtue through education". Firstly, efforts should be made to raise political standing, deeply understand that "the most fundamental thing in running ideological and political theory courses is to fully implement the Party's educational policy and solve the fundamental problem of what kind of people to cultivate, how to cultivate them, and for whom to cultivate them", adhere to upholding the correct direction while promoting innovation, and continuously improve the pertinence and appeal of ideological and political courses. Secondly, efforts should be made to study in depth and comprehend thoroughly, adhere to reading original works, studying original texts, and grasping basic principles, deeply learn Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, correctly grasp its world outlook and methodology, and uphold and apply the standpoints, viewpoints and methods embodied in it. Thirdly, efforts should be made to strengthen the sense of mission, keep in mind the sacred mission of "cultivating talents for the Party and the country", strictly implement requirements such as the "Six Musts" and the "Eight Unities"  , cultivate both theoretical literacy and educational feelings, and improve teaching art and technical means, so as to achieve love, dedication, proficiency and enjoyment in the profession.

More than 30 participants attended the meeting, including members of the school's leading group, all teachers of the Department of Sinicization of Marxism, directors of other departments (centers) of our college and some graduate students.
